In Worn out… hand-made and manufactured objects serve to represent a “nature” setting: A prairie sun sets behind a tumbleweed feebly swaying between a pair of fans. There is an off-putting tranquility that is interrupted by flashing messages: snippets of text which hint at a narrative, generic words of rootlessness and restlessness, lifted from movie dialogues, song lyrics, literature and conversation. Though the context for the messages is not clear, they function as a disjointed film script for the bleak scene. The desolate landscape speaks of isolation in conversation with a busy city street.
